Project :

Each athletic season at Saint John's University brings a full slate of printed gameday materials that serve fans, media, suite guests, and the broader SJU community. For 2025–26, our team produced a comprehensive collateral suite spanning seven sports, covering everything from individual game programs to schedule posters, pocket schedules, parking passes, and credentialing materials.

SJU is one of the only schools in the MIAC still producing printed programs — a commitment that reflects the department's investment in the gameday experience and the tradition of Johnnie Athletics.

The Work :

Game Programs We produce a program for every home football game (5–6 per season) and one program per sport for soccer, cross country, golf, hockey, track and field, tennis, baseball, and basketball. Football, hockey, basketball, soccer, and baseball programs are printed; the remaining sports receive digital versions. Each program is a collaboration between our editorial and design team and the athletics department, with roster and stats information sourced and updated in coordination with the SJU athletics stats team.

For 2025–26, the program covers shifted to a single strong action photograph from a previous game — a deliberate move away from action cutouts that streamlined production without sacrificing visual impact. It's a cleaner, more editorial look that works especially well on the tight turnaround that football Saturdays demand.

Schedule Posters Full-season schedule posters were produced for football, hockey, and basketball — designed to live in locker rooms, athletic facilities, and fan spaces throughout the season.

Pocket Schedules Two pocket schedules were produced: one dedicated to football season, and one shared between basketball and hockey — a practical format that fans actually keep and use.

Gameday Passes & Credentials Parking passes, media badges, suite guest credentials, and other gameday access materials round out the suite, requiring close coordination with athletics staff to ensure accuracy across every event.

My Role :

Graphic Designer · Print Production Manager · Project Manager · Account Manager In-house, CSB+SJU Athletics — 2025–26

The program concept is developed collaboratively with the art director and our team, but I own everything from that point forward. I manage the full design and production pipeline across all sports and all formats — building layouts, coordinating with the writer to gather and place content, working with the athletics stats team to keep rosters and records current, and managing all print production and delivery logistics. I'm the person moving every piece from first draft to finished print, across an entire athletic season.

Deliverables :

  • Game programs — football (5–6/season), plus soccer, cross country, golf, hockey, track & field, tennis, baseball, basketball

  • Print production — football, hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball

  • Schedule posters — football, hockey, basketball

  • Pocket schedules — football (×1), basketball/hockey shared (×1)

  • Gameday parking passes

  • Media badges and suite guest credentials
